A Communal Conversation
My mission is to use art to heal my ancestral line. On Becoming Unfukwitable is my one-woman show about transformation, examining the molestation I survived through the lens of each family member involved. This act of violence, a chain within the violence that my family has survived has become the catalyst to confront and disrupt the history of abuses, we’ve survived.
An interactive show, driven by the audience’s participation, Unfukwitable is set to an explosive, live jazz score that blends jazz, opera, hip-hop and Filipino folk music. Sharpe will serve as the actor leading the audience through an exploration of these characters.
