Staying Ready
Beloved community,
We are here. We are with you.
Over the next days and weeks we will be reconfiguring everything — how we work, how we eat, how we keep our hearts, minds, and bodies strong. For AMP, the nature of our days and the shape of our programs will transform, but the core of our work remains the same.
About the LOVE Building
At the intersection of Grand River Ave. and 15th Street in Detroit’s Core City neighborhood, there is a four-story brick building covered in murals. The most prominent one, spanning the top half of the front facade, is of four hands shaping the letters L-O-V-E. For nearly 20 years, this building was a home for artists and small businesses. Through low-cost studio space, gallery space, and community, it nurtured a kind of creative love, the impact of which is visible along Grand River, and will be felt for many more decades.
A web metamorphosis is on the way
Save the date for May 10th and May 16th, both from 1pm EST to 2pm EST! We'll be hosting collaborative online sessions to gather your feedback as we prepare to revamp our website.
AMP has a New Mission and Vision
Over the last several months, we started our organization-wide Chrysalis process by revisiting our mission, vision, and goals. We are excited to share the near-final version of those updates here.
AMP is hiring a Communications Manager
Allied Media Projects cultivates media strategies for a more just, creative and collaborative world. We serve a network of media makers, artists, educators, and technologists working for social justice. Our work is grounded in Detroit and connected to places across the globe.
In our story-centered communications strategy, we aim to amplify voices within this network; hold space online and offline for innovative storytelling; and shift dominant narratives through our engagement with new, radical, and traditional forms of communicating with the world.
